About the event

When a child goes missing, the impact extends far beyond the immediate family. Communities often carry a shared sense of worry, hope, helplessness, and uncertainty as they wait for answers.

The Community Support Gathering was created as a space for community members to come together during this difficult time — to acknowledge the emotional impact of the ongoing search, connect with others who may be experiencing similar feelings, and learn ways to care for themselves while continuing to hold hope.

This gathering is grounded in the understanding that uncertainty itself can be deeply challenging. When there are unanswered questions and no clear resolution, people may experience what is known as ambiguous loss — a type of loss marked by uncertainty, where hope and fear can exist side by side.

Together, we will explore:

  • The emotional impact of prolonged uncertainty

  • Common reactions to community-wide distress
